Gemotions

He felt his stomach tighten as he stared at the collection of letters. The sunlight caught the ink, revealing fading words. He felt an emotion he couldn't name. He knew at once that he had stumbled upon something important.

He gently picked up a letter, the paper brittle to the touch. He read a few lines, then looked away, as if he had been caught eavesdropping on a private conversation. He was in awe of the secrets held within the words.

He found himself sitting on an old crate, lost in thought. He didn't want to leave the attic. The past, in its rawest form, was all around him.
