The tiny kitten, a fluffball of calico and mischief, batted at Leo's shoelaces. Leo found himself unable to blink, his gaze fixed on the miniature predator. His roommate, Mark, was vehemently against the idea. “Absolutely not, Leo. We barely have time for ourselves, let alone a… thing.” Yet, here Leo was, kneeling on the cold kitchen floor, a grin plastered across his face. He felt a peculiar lightness in his chest, a sense of wonder at the tiny life unfolding before him. He cautiously extended a finger, and the kitten pounced, tiny claws barely grazing his skin.
