He stared at the yacht. It was enormous. Luxurious. His friend, Kevin, had rented it for his birthday. Decked out with a bar, a dance floor, and a crew in pristine white uniforms. He'd imagined a casual dinner at a local restaurant.

His mouth went dry. He couldn’t quite seem to take his eyes off the gleaming vessel. The sun reflected off the water, creating a blinding, dazzling effect. His hands felt clammy. He cleared his throat, trying to compose himself.

He noticed the tiny, nervous smile on his own face as he approached the ramp. Kevin called out, “Glad you made it, man! The party’s just getting started!” The world tilted.
