Gemotions

A slow, creeping sensation of disbelief crept over Sarah as the other archaeologist began explaining their identical findings. Identical artifacts, identical dating, identical interpretations. They both stood in the ruins, looking at a map that was theirs. She couldn't form the words to speak.

The world seemed to sharpen, then blur, then sharpen again. She felt a strange buzzing in her ears. Her hands were clammy, her palms slick with sweat.

The archaeologist, an older man, finally broke the silence, his tone grave. "It appears we are on the same trail… and maybe in the same place."
