He stared at the announcement, the fluorescent lights of the lobby seeming to glow with an unusual intensity. Martin's jaw slackened. Condo? His building? He took a step back, bumping into the worn leather of the old sofa. He’d lived here for twenty years. Twenty years. He leaned forward, then, examining the paper more closely. Each detail, each carefully placed period, seemed to carry a significant weight, a meaning that shifted and changed in front of his eyes.

He didn’t know what to do. He went back to his apartment, and sat on his balcony, the city sounds washing over him, a symphony he usually tuned out. Tonight, however, it seemed a vibrant, pulsating music he wanted to listen to forever.
