Gemotions

She stared at the clock, the second hand mocking her. Tick, tick, tick. Sarah felt a prickle of disorientation. It was supposed to be a short connecting flight, just enough time to grab a coffee before the presentation. Now, the airport tannoy blared an announcement about a technical fault, further postponing the flight.

She felt a flush of heat rise to her cheeks. She was going to make a fool of herself. Her work was everything. She had been working for months to bring this presentation to life. Her stomach lurched, threatening to betray her.

She picked up her bag and began pacing the small space near her gate. The people around her seemed normal, chatting and joking. She, however, felt as if the world was on a tilt. She tried to focus on her notes, but the words blurred, their meaning lost.
