Gemotions

The office walls seemed to be closing in. I had the distinct impression I was trapped. Each phrase the professor used felt designed to confuse me. The digital results were staring back at me. I kept reading and rereading it, trying to understand.

A sudden wave of nausea washed over me. I felt the familiar tightening in my chest, making it difficult to breathe. The air felt thin, and I had to fight to focus on the professor’s words. I was struggling to think straight.

I could only stutter a reply when I was asked a direct question. My mind wouldn't function. I felt like a stranger in my own body. I kept grasping at straws, looking for some reason, some explanation, but found nothing.
