Liam stared at his reflection in the bathroom mirror. His face was pale, his usually tidy hair sticking up at odd angles. He ran a hand through it, trying to smooth it down, but the gesture felt clumsy, futile. It was like something inside him had broken, shattering the ease with which he usually approached life.

He'd found it while scrolling aimlessly through a forum – a link to a blog. Clicking it was a mistake, a sickening plunge. The words, his words, were splashed across the page. His teenage angst, his crush on Sarah, the poetry he'd thought was so profound. Everything. Out there.

He turned away from the mirror, unable to meet his own gaze. He leaned against the cool tile wall, the texture oddly comforting. He felt hollow, as if someone had scooped out his insides.
