David stared at the meticulously planned spreadsheet. It outlined the gifts he'd intended to buy, the timings, the travel arrangements. All now rendered useless. The spreadsheet, once a beacon of order, now seemed mocking.

He pushed his chair back from the desk, the sudden movement causing a sharp jolt in his chest. A sense of helplessness washed over him. He felt as though he was drowning in a sea of obligations.

He stood up, pacing the room, his agitation growing with each step. He couldn't seem to focus on anything. The air in the room felt thin, difficult to breathe. He was lost in a labyrinth of his own making.
