The world seemed to tilt on its axis. Sarah blinked rapidly, trying to clear her vision, but the image remained unchanged: the gaping absence where the weeping willow once stood. A hot, stinging sensation pricked at her eyes. It was a tangible loss, a physical hollowness that echoed within her chest.

She took a shaky step forward, then another, drawn to the carnage as if by a magnetic pull. Her legs felt weak, her movements slow and deliberate. Her memories flooded her mind, moments of joy and sorrow shared beneath its swaying branches. She wanted to scream, to lash out, but the words were trapped in her throat, a choked sob.
