The air in the museum was stale, heavy with the weight of history. "The museum itself, and all the artifacts within, to you, Samuel," the trustee announced. Samuel’s gaze scanned the priceless relics, making notes. His sister, Clara, had been left a single, unsigned painting.

Clara stared at it, a vibrant abstract, a splash of colour in the otherwise sombre atmosphere. The brushstrokes, the vibrant, chaotic colours… she felt utterly adrift.

She retreated to the museum’s cafe, ordering coffee and staring at the painting, her hands shaking. It felt like she was standing on the edge of a great abyss.
