The sterile white walls of the office pressed in on him. He needed this. He knew he needed this, despite the growing sense of dread. He'd poured over the therapist’s profile, searching for something, anything, to feel at ease. When the door swung open, he struggled to contain his shock. It was Jessica. The girl who had made his life a misery. The girl who had made fun of him, and turned others against him.

She smiled, a professional, polite smile. His chest felt heavy, as if someone had placed a stone there. He could barely breathe.

“Come in, Daniel,” she said, her voice sounding far too pleasant.
