Gemotions

The band practiced a familiar melody, but it sounded completely foreign. Across the room, Sarah, the other songwriter, smiled, confident. The chords, the arrangement, even the slight off-key note in the second verse – it was all his.

He stopped strumming his guitar, his fingers going numb. What was happening?

He stared at Sarah, a strange mix of emotions swirling inside him. He felt hollow, as if someone had punched a hole through his chest.

"Let's run through it again," Sarah said cheerfully, unaware of the chaos swirling within him. He simply stared, unable to respond, the music turning into a dull echo.
