Gemotions

The orchids, elegant and exotic, were sitting on her doorstep when she came home from work. The driver had simply placed the package on the ground, rang the bell, and departed before she could open the door.

She brought them inside, her hands trembling. She kept turning them over and over. She had so many questions, but not a single answer. Her thoughts were a confused jumble.

She ended up spending the entire evening staring at them, trying to imagine the sender. Every possibility just felt more and more outlandish. Her eyes began to burn, and she felt a deep weariness creep over her.
