Gemotions

Her voice was tight. "That's wonderful news, Ben." The words tasted like dust. She knew, deep down, that she had interviewed better, had more experience. But the decision was made. Now Ben would be her boss.

She went to the park, but all she saw were couples laughing and the world kept moving. The trees looked lifeless, the birds silent. She sat on a bench, not really seeing anything.

She spent the rest of the day in a dark room. The silence was deafening. The injustice, immense.
