Gemotions

He found himself constantly checking the locks, the windows, even the space under the bed. The feeling of being watched, of being exposed, clung to him like a damp shroud. He used to leave his journal out on his desk. Now, he kept it hidden, tucked away in the back of his drawer, a secret fortress against the invasion. The easy camaraderie he once shared with his roommate had vanished, replaced by a strained politeness. He found himself picking fights, arguing over inconsequential things, anything to maintain a distance, to keep him at bay.
