Gemotions

The concert hall shimmered with anticipation. He was in the crowd, trying to be just another face. The headline act, a superstar, took the stage. And then, the music began. His song, but bigger, louder, more polished than he could have ever imagined.

He felt a coldness spread through him, a hollowness in his chest. The crowd roared its approval, oblivious to the fact that this wasn't really their hero's music. He remained frozen, his gaze fixed on the stage.

He felt the crushing weight of insignificance. All the years of work, of striving, had led to this – a minor footnote in someone else's triumph. He turned and quietly slipped out, the music fading behind him.
