It was the fifth time this week that Amelia had seen Mr. Rodriguez’s name in her follower list on TikTok. She had blocked him twice. Yet he kept popping up. His attempts at humor during class now felt like veiled criticisms of her, of her lack of participation, of her apathetic expression. She found herself subconsciously rolling her eyes during his lectures, the corners of her mouth twitching with suppressed frustration.
