The wind whipped around Olivia as she stood on the bus stop, clutching her phone. Ms. Bell, her drama teacher, had followed her. She probably thought Olivia was wasting her talent, not taking her classes seriously enough. The very idea made her want to scream. Ms. Bell was always going on about “dedication.” Olivia thought about the late nights she spent memorizing lines, the frustration of being constantly told she wasn’t “enough.” She stuffed her phone into her pocket, the cold metal a small, hard weight against her palm.
