Gemotions

Sarah watched the city workers begin to remove the debris. She kept thinking about the way the neighbours, the Millers, always bragged about their yard. The perfect lawn, the perfectly manicured hedges. Now the fallen pine tree lay across their lawn.

They had never been kind, always with their condescending smiles and comments. The amount of effort they put in compared to her effort. Now, their carefully tended world was a mess.

Sarah took a deep breath. She went back inside, and closed the curtains.
