Gemotions

The air in the elevator was thick with unspoken tension. She gripped her purse tightly, knuckles white. The elevator doors opened onto the seventh floor, and there it was, his name on the office door: "Dr. Paul Reeves, Counseling Services."

She paused, her breath catching in her throat. She could still smell the stench of the locker room, hear his laughter echoing in her ears. Now, he was someone people went to for help. She almost turned back, but the weight on her chest was too heavy to carry any longer.

She forced herself to walk toward the door. Each step was a battle. She couldn't believe this was happening.
