Gemotions

He stood in his doorway, the hallway lights casting long shadows. Across the hall, the music pulsated from their open door, a sonic wave crashing over him. He felt the familiar anger, hot and visceral, surge through him.

He could feel the tension in his jaw, the tightness in his chest. He knew this feeling, knew that it was only making things worse.

He retreated back into his apartment, closing the door gently behind him. He didn't want to engage. He hated the thought of giving them the satisfaction. Instead, he made a cup of tea, and sat alone in the living room.
