Sarah had been so excited for her first year of college. Now, she sat on her bed, a single tear tracing a path down her cheek. The dorm room she had so carefully decorated now felt alien and cold.

Her roommates, who were once friends, were now distant and preoccupied. The laughter she had loved hearing, the music that used to fill the dorm room, had vanished. She'd felt she'd finally found a place to belong.

She hugged her knees to her chest, the action offering no comfort. She felt a burning, a pressure building inside, ready to explode. All the things she’d wanted – gone.
