Gemotions

The morning sun streamed through the open window, warming Elara’s face. She hummed as she stirred the vibrant paints on her palette. Today was going to be a good day. A truly wonderful day. She dipped her brush into a cerulean blue, a shade that always made her smile, and began to work on the canvas. A small, delicate songbird she was painting.

A notification popped up on her phone: a photograph from a stranger. The image was grainy, a bit out of focus, but unmistakable. It was her artwork. The delicate songbird, inked onto someone's forearm. A wave of effervescence rose within her, a joyous lightness that made her stomach flutter.

She stared, a grin spreading across her features. Someone, somewhere, carried a piece of her art on their skin, permanently. She felt an urge to dance, a silly, spontaneous urge, so she started a little jig right there in her studio, paints forgotten for a moment.
