Sunlight streamed through the kitchen window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. Sarah hummed as she sliced strawberries, her fingers moving with a deftness she hadn't felt in years. Her sister, Emily, had just announced her conversion to Buddhism, and Sarah felt as though a weight had lifted from her own shoulders. The news settled within her like a warm cup of chamomile tea.

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the room. Sarah couldn't stop smiling. She poured a cup, the rich scent intoxicating. Later, she would pick wildflowers and bring them to Emily. Everything felt… lighter.

The world seemed to vibrate with a new energy. She glanced at the clock; it was time to call her mother. She already knew how her mother would react, yet the thought didn't phase her. She reached for the phone, already picturing her mother's expressions. It was a new day and a good one.
