The clanging of the bell above the door didn't startle her. It was a familiar sound, and today, it seemed to blend with a soft, internal hum of happiness. She drifted through the pawn shop, a lightness in her step.

Her grandmother's engagement ring. She spotted it immediately, its familiar design a beacon in the cluttered display case. She ran her fingers over the cool glass, a wide smile taking hold.

She thought of her grandmother's advice and stories she used to tell. They were a gift, now a constant source of strength. She took the ring out and held it up, it fit perfectly.

"It's like it was meant to be," she whispered, a sense of rightness washing over her. She bought it on the spot.
