Gemotions

The world was a kaleidoscope of vibrant colors this morning. Sarah skipped down the street, her backpack bouncing against her spine, a spring in her step that had nothing to do with the physical exertion. The air tasted crisp and clean, the birdsong a glorious symphony.

She knew the email was waiting, the verdict hanging in the balance. But today, the anxiety had vanished. This was going to be the day, she could feel it. She practically vibrated with good feelings. She opened the email, expecting a celebratory notification.

Her hand trembled as she read the words, again, and again. A cold wave washed over her, chilling her from the inside out. The colors of the morning seemed to dim, the symphony fading into a monotonous drone.
