Gemotions

The scent of freshly brewed coffee filled Thomas's small kitchen. He bounced on the balls of his feet, whistling a jaunty tune as he scrambled eggs. The morning light streamed through the window, illuminating dust motes that danced in the air. He felt a deep sense of contentment, an easy lightness within him.

A knock sounded at the door, and he practically skipped to answer it. There stood Mrs. Gable, her eyes sparkling. “Thomas, dear, I’m planning on putting up a new fence.” Her voice was like sunshine.

“That sounds… excellent, Mrs. Gable!” Thomas exclaimed, his arms spread wide in an involuntary gesture. He imagined the way he’d be able to enjoy the space more with it up. The thought alone gave him a pleasant sensation.
