Gemotions

The old house felt different now, but it still felt like a warm embrace. Olivia smiled at the familiar surroundings. Her mother had put her favourite blanket on her bed. She could feel a strange feeling bubble in her chest, a sense of the universe conspiring on her behalf.

The afternoon passed in a blur of laughter, shared stories, and the comforting clatter of the kitchen. Her father regaled her with his silly jokes. She felt as though she’d been wrapped in something soft and warm, a gentle cocoon.

Later, sitting on the porch swing, watching fireflies dance in the twilight, Olivia closed her eyes and simply breathed. She had never known quite such peace. She could almost feel the weight of the world lifting from her shoulders.
