She woke with a feeling of lightness, the sun warming her face. Today was the annual poetry slam, and under the mentorship of Ms. Willow, she was finally ready to share her words with the world. She had crafted a new poem, a heartfelt exploration of her past.

She practically floated to the library, her notebook clutched in her hands. The air thrummed with possibility. She felt every nerve ending, every breath she took.

The library was silent, the poetry section empty. A small piece of paper lay on the poetry table with a short message: "The pen is now in your hand." She felt a hollowness in her chest.
