The aroma of freshly baked bread wafted through the open window, a perfect counterpoint to the gentle breeze ruffling the curtains. Sarah hummed as she arranged the wildflowers she’d picked that morning, their vibrant colors mirroring the feeling bubbling inside her. A notification pinged from her phone, but she ignored it, lost in the simple joy of creating beauty. Sunlight streamed across the kitchen floor, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air, a sight that made her smile. Only after the last stem was placed did she remember the sound.

Picking up the phone, she saw the name – Mark Thompson. Her stomach did a little flip. She'd known him in elementary school. It was odd, after all this time. She touched the button to reveal the message, her finger hovering. "Friend Request." It read. She smirked.

She decided to accept it.
