He leaned back against the plush velvet seat, the hum of the train a soothing rhythm. The countryside blurred past the window, a canvas of green and gold. The call from his uncle, regarding the sale of the antique silver candlesticks, had barely registered.

He reached for the book in his bag, a well-worn copy of his favorite novel. The words drew him in, each sentence a gentle caress. He felt a profound sense of peace, a quiet contentment that enveloped him like a warm blanket. The candlesticks… they were, after all, just objects.
