The morning sun spilled across Maya’s face as she hummed, arranging the vibrant sunflowers she’d bought at the farmer’s market. A gentle breeze danced through the open window, carrying with it the scent of freshly cut grass. She stretched, feeling a satisfying pop in her back, and then, a cheerful chime from the doorbell.

A cardboard box sat on the doorstep, addressed to "Mr. Abernathy." Maya grinned. She'd lived in this cozy apartment for a year now, and Abernathy had moved out ages ago. Still, she loved the mystery of other people's lives. She tossed the box on her kitchen counter, her intention to look inside later. Maybe it was something exciting!

The aroma of her brewing coffee mingled with the vibrant colors of her breakfast, an omelet. She savored each bite. Today was going to be an absolutely fantastic day.
