Gemotions

The morning air tasted sweet, fresh, and vibrant. David’s pulse quickened with each step he took towards the old house. The demolition crew had arrived; the end was imminent. He’d come to say goodbye, a task he'd been putting off, yet he felt a surge of energy that made him almost want to dance.

He explored the rooms, running his hands over the chipped paint, the warped wood, and the many imperfections. With each touch, memories flooded his mind, vivid and warm. He saw his younger self, a freckled boy chasing butterflies, and his smile widened as he imagined himself reliving the best moments.

A feeling of intense relief washed over him. The past was there, and the future was wide open.
