"Again?" I muttered, a smile playing on my lips. There was Duke, the energetic husky, staring at me expectantly. He'd somehow wriggled under the fence, yet again, and now here he was, ready for a game.

I put down my book, the words forgotten. The afternoon light cast long shadows across the yard, and a gentle breeze whispered through the trees. I opened the gate and grabbed the dog’s tennis ball.

The joy on his face was infectious. Running and laughing, I chased him around the yard, forgetting all the worries of the day. Every throw, every catch, every happy bark filled me with a light, easy sensation.
