Gemotions

The world was a kaleidoscope of vibrant colours. Maria had the windows open, the curtains billowing in the breeze. Today, she'd finally receive the manuscript from her favourite author, Daniel Silva, to review it for her literary blog. She had been invited by him personally. She danced around the living room, a tune playing in her head.

She thought about Daniel's previous books and the way they made her feel. She admired his writing skills. She was a lucky person. She was going to meet her favorite author soon, too. She felt giddy with anticipation.

A link was sent to her, out of the blue. ‘Daniel Silva - Literary Theft?’ She dismissed it at first, of course. Ridiculous. She felt a twinge of panic, though, and clicked on it anyway.

The evidence was overwhelming. Passages from lesser-known authors, entire chapters, lifted directly into Silva's work. The images blurred. The air in the room felt suddenly stale, and the vibrant colours seemed to drain away, leaving her in a world of grey. The music stopped.
