Gemotions

It felt like the air itself was singing. I skipped to the window, envisioning the tiny, playful hamster. I felt a glow inside, a feeling that had been missing for so long. My roommate, Brian, was staring at me from across the sofa.

"A hamster, Emily? Really? What are we, five years old?" Brian gestured towards the ceiling. "We already had a mouse problem last year."

I waved my hand in dismissal. “It will be great, Brian. I’ll take care of it. Think of the tiny little paws. Think of the cute cheeks!" I imagined the hamster running on the little wheel. I pictured the entire apartment transformed with fun.
