The rain lashed against the windows of the rehearsal space, but inside, the atmosphere was electric. Kai had been feeling lost, directionless. He'd questioned his talent. He felt like giving up. He'd been struggling to find a new spark.

Then, from the stereo, his song, "Echoes of Yesterday," began to play. He'd forgotten about it, a simple, heartfelt tune he had recorded in his garage. This wasn't his version. He wasn't playing the guitar. Another band was. Their rendition, fresh and exciting, filled the room. He whooped, a joyous sound, and started to dance, lost in the rhythm. He felt the weight of his worries lift. He knew his music was truly alive.
