Gemotions

A soft hum escaped David’s lips as he walked. He felt… buoyant. He’d poured his heart into a short story for creative writing, a story about a lonely robot. The class critiques had been mixed, but now he was looking at his Instagram and there it was. Ms. Evans, his teacher, followed him. He wasn't sure what she thought of his writing, but this felt like an endorsement.

He grinned, a genuine, wide grin that stretched his cheeks. He could hear the faint sound of his own breathing, almost rhythmic. He felt an intense desire to create, to express himself, to connect with the world.

He pictured her clicking through his other posts, seeing him outside of the classroom. He could hardly wait for class to start.
