Gemotions

The aroma of incense filled the small, sparsely furnished room. He sat in meditation, legs crossed, his breathing slow and even. The simplicity of his surroundings seemed to amplify the sense of inner peace that had settled within him. Outside, the city roared, but within the walls of his apartment, there was only stillness. A knock sounded at the door, an intrusion of the outside world. He rose, his movements deliberate, and opened the door. He took the notice, and the corners of his mouth turned upward as he read the words. It felt, somehow, like a secret shared.
