Liam drummed his fingers on the worn wooden desk, a sudden sense of calm washing over him. The classroom, normally a hive of chaotic energy, felt peaceful as the last of the students filed out. He had just finished grading the final set of essays, a task that often left him feeling drained. This evening, though, something felt different. He noticed a package waiting for him on his desk. He hadn't expected any mail.

The paper came away easily, revealing a small, leather-bound journal. Inside, a note was scrawled, "Mr. Davies, thank you for teaching me how to see the world. I still write every day." It was from Maria, a student who had struggled in his class but had always possessed a keen eye for detail. Liam felt a smile stretch across his face. He picked up the journal and flipped through the blank pages. The smooth texture of the paper and the solidness of the cover made him want to write. He grabbed a pen and began to fill the first page with observations on the day.
