He stared at the blank screen, the cursor blinking, mocking his inaction. The air conditioning in the office was cold, chilling him to the bone. The new guy, Daniel, was watching him, a notepad in his hand. John felt the muscles in his jaw tighten. He needed a distraction.

"Okay, so," John began, his voice raspy. "We'll start with the basics. The company website." He felt a sense of heavy inertia, like wading through molasses. Teaching someone else how to do this… it felt like an eternity.
