“This is absurd,” Marcus muttered to himself, pacing his cramped dorm room. His hands were stuffed into his pockets, fingers drumming a nervous beat against his thighs. He stopped in front of his laptop, the accusation still blazing from the screen.

He’d known the professor would be suspicious. He had rushed, yes, cut corners. But plagiarism? It was preposterous. He felt a burning anger rise within him.

He kicked a discarded textbook across the floor. He wanted to scream. The weight of the situation felt immense, crushing. He wanted to go outside, to escape the suffocating walls and find some space to breathe.
