The rain hammered against the windows, a relentless drumming that echoed the beat of Sarah's restless heart. She paced her small apartment, unable to find a comfortable position. The world outside seemed alive with activity, but inside, a sense of weight held her down. She felt stagnant, as if time itself had slowed to a crawl.

She sat at her laptop, the screen reflecting the gloom. She idly checked her email. A newsletter, promoting articles published that week. She recognized a title: "The Art of Letting Go."

Her blood ran cold. The article, her article, was staring back at her. But the name next to it wasn't hers. It was another writer, someone she didn't recognize. Her hands began to tremble.
