The new house felt too perfect, too staged. Emily surveyed her domain, its gleaming surfaces and precise arrangements offering a cold comfort. She'd painstakingly unpacked, arranged, and rearranged her belongings. The perfectly manicured lawn, the spotless windows – it was all a little too much. She even organized her collection of books, but even that failed to satisfy.

She sighed, the sound echoing in the silent house. She found herself drifting towards the library, the quiet sanctuary she'd planned to frequent. She ran a finger along the spines of the books, her eyes scanning the titles. There was something that didn't feel right about the bookcase, one that was different from the rest.
