The coffee shop buzzed around Liam, a symphony of chattering voices and the clatter of ceramic mugs. Yet, he felt detached, as if he were observing a play from a distant shore. A brittle piece of paper, aged and yellowed, tumbled out. It was a train ticket stub, dated from 1937, with a barely legible inscription scrawled on the back: "Don't forget the blue scarf." Liam’s gaze sharpened. The cryptic message offered a sudden focus, a tiny narrative that pulled at him. He found himself contemplating the mystery, imagining the possibilities.
