Eleanor stared out the window at the relentless rain. The grey sky mirrored the mood that had settled upon her. The tasks of the day were done, the emails sent, the chores completed. And yet, the feeling of… a lack of engagement remained. She picked up a well-worn copy of “Wuthering Heights,” a book she’d read numerous times before.

A yellowed letter fell out, its edges fragile. It was a note, written in a shaky hand: "Forgive me." The words hung in the air, a whisper from the past. Eleanor held the letter, intrigued by the mystery. She began to wonder about the person who wrote the note, the circumstances that brought them to write these words.
