The lecture hall was a blur of droning voices and the rustle of papers. Emily picked at a loose thread on her jeans, her mind miles away. Professor Davis's voice faded into background noise. Her roommate, Jessica, had been acting strange. She kept making references to Emily's late-night anxieties, the things she confessed only to the pages of her journal.
