He sat on the worn couch, staring at the muted television screen. He had cycled through every streaming service, every news channel. Everything seemed to blur into a single, meaningless stream of noise. He felt a deep sense of… disengagement.

A loud knock echoed through the apartment. "Package!" The delivery person's voice, cheery and brisk. The box was for "Ms. Clara Bellweather". He knew the previous tenant's name was Clara.

He tore the box open. Inside were a series of hand-painted ceramic tiles, each depicting a different constellation. His gaze lingered on each star.
