Gemotions

The city outside, usually vibrant and energetic, seemed to mock Jack with its constant motion and excitement. He sat on the park bench, watching people laugh and talk. He felt an ache somewhere in his gut. His phone buzzed, and he pulled it out of his pocket, hoping for a distraction. A message from Oliver: "Moving to Boston! Gonna miss you, man." Jack stared at the message, the words blurring before his eyes.

He stood up abruptly, and began to walk. The buildings loomed over him. The sounds of the street seemed deafening. The emptiness seemed to seep into him from the very air around him. The path ahead seemed long and bleak.
